The 47
1978. The outskirts of Barcelona, shaped and raised mainly by immigrants from Extremadura and Andalusia, built with their own hands, is not considered part of the city. Their shacks do not even have running water, electricity, or public transportation. Fed up with a city hall that keeps saying they can´t send transportation there because the shack-lined streets are too narrow and unsafe, a bus driver hijaks his own bus and drives it to his neighborhood to prove that his people can indeed have a public transport line. An act of peaceful dissidence that transformed Barcelona and changed the concept of the outskirts forever.
