THE MEDIAPRO STUDIO Distribution will be at the third edition of Content Americas, where it will present its top new content, including national and international fiction and non-fiction productions, series, films, entertainment shows and formats, in addition to THE MEDIAPRO STUDIO’s main franchises.

“Content Americas is the first major event of the year for the audiovisual industry. A market that in just three editions has established itself as one of the key gatherings for our sector, the place to discover the big trends of 2025 and one where we will be actively involved, both in meetings with our clients and in the various discussion panels on the program,” said Javier Esteban, Director of International at THE MEDIAPRO STUDIO.

THE MEDIAPRO STUDIO’s extensive experience in international production will be shared in various industry discussion panels organized by Content Americas thanks to the participation of the following Studio executives: Marta Ezpeleta, General Director of The Mediapro Studio, a speaker on Tuesday the 21st at the “State of the Lat Am and Hispanic Nation” session exploring the challenges and opportunities facing the audiovisual industry, such as budget cuts and the rise of AI. And on Wednesday the 22nd, JC Acosta, Head of The Mediapro Studio’s North American division, joined by Catalina Porto, head of content at The Mediapro Studio in Colombia and Mexico, along with other team members yet to be announced, will discuss current trends and co-production opportunities for Spanish content in America.

Standing out among the Studio’s main projects being presented this year at Content Americas are ‘Celeste’, ‘The Famous Five’ and ‘Quiet’, which is soon to be released on the Catalan platform 3Cat and later on Disney+. This thriller created by Lluís Arcarazo and set during the pandemic in Barcelona stars David Verdaguer and Ángela Cervantes.

‘Celeste’, a Movistar Plus+ original series co-produced by 100 Balas (THE MEDIAPRO STUDIO) and created by Diego San José, has become a hit with audiences and critics alike. Carmen Machi leads the cast, playing a veteran tax inspector who’s assigned the biggest case of her career just as she’s set to retire. ‘The Famous Five’, meanwhile, is an ambitious reimagining – a fresh adaptation with a cinematographic touch – of the bestselling novels by English author Enid Blyton. Co-produced for the BBC and ZDF by Moonage Pictures and byNWR, in association with THE MEDIAPRO STUDIO, the production was one of last year’s most ambitious youth-skewing series and season two sees Spanish actress María Pedraza join the cast.

As for film, two of the most successful titles on The Mediapro Studio Distribution’s slate are ‘El 47’ and ‘Transmitzvah’. ‘El 47’, directed by Marcel Barrena, has broken the box office record in Spain with more than three million euros in box office revenue, over half a million viewers, and is nominated for 14 Goya Awards. The film pays tribute to a grassroots struggle, with a cast headed up by Eduard Fernández, Clara Segura and Zoe Bonafonte, among others. ‘Transmitzvah’, which marked the return of Daniel Burman to the movie director’s chair and stars Penélope Guerrero, debuted in movie theaters in Argentina in October and is currently available on Netflix.

Another big item on the slate for Content America is the third and final season of ‘The Head’, the STUDIO’s leading international franchise, which since December has been available on Max in Latin America, the US, Spain and Portugal. The international cast is this season led by John Lynch, Katharine O’Donnelly and Olivia Morris, with Jorge Dorado, who has directed all three installments, at the helm.

Also featuring in The Mediapro Studio Distribution’s lineup for this edition of Content Americas is the horror series ‘Tales from the void’, an anthology of some of the best horror stories from the NoSleep subreddit, which has more than 18 million members.

Among new additions to the Mediapro Studio Distribution’s content portfolio, the inclusion of a production from outside the Studio stands out – ‘Real Madrid, How Could I Not Love You’ A Wakai production in association with Real Madrid CF, this docuseries provides a glimpse inside one of the world’s leading football clubs and takes a look back at the 2023-24 season, when ‘The Whites’ were victors of both LaLiga and The Champions League. The series will make its debut in Spain on Prime Video in February.

Still on unscripted content, also noteworthy is the game show ‘Cash’, an adaptation for TelevisaUnivisión of one of the Studio’s original entertainment formats, ‘Crush’, which has reached Latin America for the first time via Mexican TV network Las Estrellas.

Also set to grab attention are some of the formats that The Mediapro Studio launched last year, such as ‘59 Seconds’, a current affairs debate show hosted by journalist Gemma Nierga in a prime time slot on TVE’s La 1 channel; and two new formats featuring comedian Berto Romero: ‘Replicant Sheep’, which takes a fresh and original look at how literature is reflected in popular culture and airs on TVE’s La 2 channel; and ‘Ask Berto’, a very innovative format for Movistar Plus in which Berto Romero answers questions that are as down-to-earth as they are incredible. And new this year is the adventure reality show ‘Salvaxe’, a new survival contest produced for the Galician regional channel TVG. Then there’s the Studio’s classic unscripted titles, including hits like ‘El Conquistador’, the most extreme and also most successful reality show on Spanish TV, with 20 seasons screened on ETB; ‘Catch Me If You Can’, a format that has been on air for a decade and spawned 11 adaptations for regional channels in Spain and which has just won a Spanish TV Academy award; as well as ‘400’, a docu reality format for the Valencian regional channel À Punt.
